Back to the Root: An Urban River Revitalization Plan



The Root River Council is a local volunteer committee in the Racine area working with the River Alliance of Wisconsin in the development of an Urban Root River Plan that will bring a positive focus to the Root River.

Our goal is to create an assist in implementation of an Urban Root River Plan that balances redevelopment and economic growth with improved water quality and increased public access to the river with the City of Racine.

Afternoon Jazz Show at the Racine Business Center

ORZC’s Jeno Somlai and Jay Mollerskov will host a jazz benefit concert on Saturday, Feb. 12 in Racine.

Jeno, a reverend teacher at the Zen Center, and Jay, a peacekeeper, are professional jazz musicians. Jeno plays piano and drums and recorded a latin jazz CD, Let It Go. He performs with several Milwaukee area groups and has toured throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jay plays jazz guitar and recorded his own CD and recently contributed to The Curt Hanrahan Quartet’s album, Souljourner.

The Feb. 12 concert is 2-4:30 p.m. at the Racine Business Center, 1405 16th St., in Racine. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door.
